Dennis Broeders at CyFy 2019
Our Senior Fellow Dennis Broeders will be attending the CyFy 2019 conference from 14-16 October 2019.
At the conference, he will chair a panel on "State, Capitalism or State-Capitalism". The panel will look at the contest for influence between democratic and authoritarian capitalism being played out in digital economies across the world and discuss if existing international institutions are ill-equipped to handle this contest and if emerging economies can forge a viable "third way" in this contest. Dennis also contributed an essay to the conference's publication Digital Debates, titled "Mutually Assured Diplomacy: Governance, 'unpeace' and diplomacy in cyberspace", which you can download here.
CyFy — The India Conference on Technology, Security and Society is a global platform to discuss, debate and deliver digital policy solutions. This year, the sessions will broadly be based on five pillars: Big Politics, Technology and Society, New Voices, Digital Economy, and the Machine Age. Besides engaging on crucial global questions around managing cyberspace regimes, CyFy will also drive dialogue on issues affecting emerging economies such as affordable access, technology-driven public services, and digital identity initiatives.
