Call for papers for Novel Horizons: Responsible Behaviour in Cyberspace
We are proud to organize our first conference, part of an annual series, to encourage academic diversity in the study of cyber security. The theme this year is ‘Responsible Behaviour in Cyberspace’. The conference will take place in The Hague, The Netherlands from 5-7 November 2018. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts is 9 May 2018.
The concept of cybersecurity does not have a clear definition, scope or edges, which may hamper academic and policy debate. One dominant take on cyber security is grounded in international relations and focuses on securing cyberspace or, more broadly, regulating (state) behaviour in cyberspace. However, responsible behaviour in cyberspace by both state and non-state actors touches upon a diverse range of disciplines. The key to understanding cyber security and the development of norms in cyberspace lies in bringing together the various disciplines that it relates to. This call for papers therefore invites extended abstracts from a wide range of academic disciplines.
