The Dependency Dilemma: China, Cyber Risks and European Sovereignty

Hague TIX 2026 Side Event

Join us the day before The Hague Threat Intelligence Exchange (Hague TIX) for The Dependency Dilemma: China, Cyber Risks and European Sovereignty, an exclusive pre-event presentation hosted by Hunt & Hackett in collaboration with Leiden University researcher Jake Wright.

This session brings together academic and industry perspectives on one of the most pressing geopolitical and cybersecurity challenges of our time: Europe's technological dependence, and what it means for our digital security.

Jake Wright will map the full landscape of China's open-source ecosystem and its global impact, exploring what Chinese technology alternatives mean for European sovereignty and how the EU can use its regulatory and market power to build a secure, performant and open digital economy.

Francisco Dominguez, security expert at Hunt & Hackett, then translates that geopolitical picture into concrete cyber risk by diving into China's cyber ecosystem and how European organisations can use threat intelligence to understand and defend against this threat.
