Lena Herbst is a research fellow and PhD candidate at the Institute of International Relations at the Technical University of Braunschweig. Before starting her PhD, Lena studied International Relations at the FU Berlin, HU Berlin and University of Potsdam. Her research interests include security studies, peace and conflict studies, and international organizations.
In her PhD project, Lena researches the patterns of and explanations for the involvement of non-state actors in United Nations institutions that are active in cybersecurity governance. She seeks to understand why United Nations cybersecurity institutions vary in their non-state involvement.
