Recently, Austria joined the ever-increasing number of states who have published their national positions on how international law applies to cyber activities. This commentary addresses some remarkable aspects of the position, which includes Austria’s views on ‘cyberspace’ itself, cyber espionage, attribution, collective countermeasures, preventive cyber measures, privileges and immunities of international organizations and diplomatic and consular missions, as well as International Criminal Law.
