Hacking the Voting Machine: analysing Fraud claims in the 2022 Elections in Brazil
This paper examines how the electoral fraud discourse spread during Brazil's 2022 elections, centered on allegations of hacking the country's voting machines. Using a securitization theory lens, we highlight policy decisions made by the Brazilian government that amplified false claims of electoral fraud. The analysis focuses on the discourse spread through social networks, particularly narratives related to cyber-attacks on voting machines.
